Jorge Luis was a member of the Greater Miami Opera Chorus for a number of seasons. He sang under the artisitc direction of principal conductor Willie Anthony Waters and conductor and accompanist Steven M. Crawford. He participated in the American Premiere of Christoforo Colombo.
Alberto Franchetti's festival opera, Cristofore Colombo, was written for the 400th anniversary of the discovery of America. According to the critics, it is a powerful work, with echoes of late Verdi, much Ponchielli, and even Wagner. It was performed by The Greater Miami Opera in the Dade County Auditorium, Miami, Florida, with whom Jorge Luis Morejon sang in the chorus.
